Yes, under UAE Arbitration Law (Federal Law No. 6 of 2018), valid arbitration agreements are binding and UAE courts will refer parties to arbitration when a valid clause exists. The clause must be in writing and cover the dispute at hand.

DIAC arbitrations typically conclude within 12–18 months, compared to 2–4+ years for court litigation. Complex international arbitrations may take longer. We work to ensure proceedings are managed efficiently to minimise time and cost.

Yes. The UAE is a signatory to the New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards. We manage enforcement proceedings before UAE courts and advise on grounds for resisting recognition where relevant.

Certain matters cannot be arbitrated under UAE law — including criminal matters, family and personal status disputes, and some administrative law issues. Most commercial, construction, real estate, and contractual disputes are suitable for arbitration.
